The boys started school today! It's been a fun summer and we didn't do ANY of my emergency boredom busters that I had prepared! Oh well... life goes on and I'm sure I'll be able to use them some day. The boys haven't acted all that excited to go back to school, but last night when we put the newly sharpened pencils in their shiny new pencil boxes and laid out their clothes for the first day, they decided it would be fun to go back after all. It was fun to walk them to the school, and I loved their little hesitation on the sidewalk (see middle picture) as they contemplated what was happening. I love these guys, and I hope for a great year.
One funny thing happened...as soon as all the kids were safely in the door after the bell rang I heard a mother give a big whoop and say, "Who wants to go to breakfast!?"

Wow! There's a ME in Brigham City? I was thinking the same thing should happen next year when Joey is off to kindergarten. It will help with the sadness.
Funny! I loved the whooping mom--I could have used someone like her on my first day without kids last week. ;)
They are both looking so grown up, oh has time flown by since those Joy School days. Hope they had a great 1st day!
The boys look so great. Hope they have a good school year. How fun for you to be able to walk with them to school. How was their first day?
Lol about that mom! Hope they have a good year, I like Jack's shirt!
I didn't use my summer boredom stuff either!! Yeah for back to school!
Such cute, grownup boys. I love that picture of them walking together with their big backpacks. I hope they make good memories.
What darling boys! I love the whooping mom too! I think transitions are always so hard. I always hated to have my kids back in school again. It is good to look at the bright side.
