This month...

This month has been flying by as I'm sure you have noticed.  Some highlights before I forget...

Jack, Jane and I headed to the historic Brigham City Tabernacle for a Christmas Spectacular concert.  We were mostly excited to see Jon Schmidt, a pretty darn good pianist you might have heard of.  We were there pretty early so I told Jack and Jane to go get his autograph.  Jack was a little nervous but, after negotiations, $3 did the trick to be brave enough to go.

A lady with a german accent approached me because she thought I might be her long lost cousin she was searching for.  Turns out she was Jon Schmidts mom (who really does have cousins in BC, just not me).  I had listened to a podcast about her husbands time in Germany during the war on Enduring it Well (#16) so it was really a delight to talk with her.  She talked to Jack about practicing the piano, which I could have hugged her for!

On Saturday the 10th I had lots to do at church.  Way back when I served in Relief Society we were asked to put on the wards Christmas party.  I suggested the primary put on the nativity and everyone loved that idea.  Well, I got released from RS a few weeks later, but not from putting on the party.  I was then called into the primary, where I was asked to head up the nativity for the ward party.  How do you like that!
So Saturday we practiced with all the primary kids (they did AWESOME!) and then I set up for the party with Wendy (former RS pres) then went back later to finish up the set up and start welcoming the soup bringers.  It was at this point that I learned Wendy was really not feeling good so she got sent home.  It wasn't that hard to finish off the party, but apparently my stress level was a little high, and when I came home I dropped dead.  Well, not really, but my body was done!  After teaching sharing time and then recouperating Sunday I felt much better

We took our annual pictures in front of the Christmas tree that Sunday.  We did all right for about a 10 minute window to get everyone a single shot, some kids together shots, and the whole fam damily.

Jane has been part of a singing class and Thursday they had their big recital.  They were 4 cute Elves!  She did a great job and I'm proud of her,

Last night we headed to Willard Bay Lights to see Santa.  It's always a dangerous thing to leave this until the end because...
A: Santa is tired and doesn't really care about anything but time passing quickly
B: The kids suddenly ask for something you had not heard of before.

We enjoyed driving around the lights twice!  The second time we discovered we could take some pictures so we had fun watching the reindeer hit the ground at the Reindeer flight school...the mice running into the tree and flying off their sled...Going to the North Pole...Mrs. Clause sewing the Santa suit...Bringing the tree home on the wagon...Dumping Sugar on the gum drops, and the classic Christmas Dragon (huh?)!
