Thanksgiving Weekend

Posted by Picasa

Finally! I have a second to catch up our happenings over the Thanksgiving holiday. I should be cleaning up any number of messes, doing laundry, and finishing the Christmas decorating but I got sick on Thanksgiving day and it's lingering forever and sitting at the computer isn't too hard. So, we didn't have plans to go anywhere on Thanksgiving which turned out to be a good thing as I didn't feel well at all. John took over and cooked everything, played games with the kids, and let me rest. We had a very nice dinner later on and his turkey was SOOO GOOD! Maybe I'll be sick every year!
I should explain that first picture...I went and helped out at Jack's thanksgiving feast at school. His teacher had this 'fake' indian to join their feast. As I was cleaning up the plates I said, "Do you think Mr. Indian is done?" and she replied, "Oh yes, he's had enough. In fact, he's stuffed!" Ha ha!
The next day I couldn't sleep anyway so I headed to Radio Shack and Shopko and got a few deals. Nothing I really needed, though. That afternoon Jane and I went with my 2 sisters and a couple of their kids to Ogden for the Festival of the Trees. Jane didn't like it as much as I thought she would but I enjoyed seeing all the creative trees.
That night got really busy with a visit from some friends from RC. It was so nice to see them, and we really appreciated them stopping by!
Then, we had cousins come over to spend the night. They had a blast playing games, making and frosting cookies, and just being together.
Saturday night we went to the courthouse to see Santa arrive, but all the kids unanimously decided they would rather go eat dinner than wait in line to sit on his lap. While they like what he brings, they've never been big fans of hanging out with Santa.
So, they're supposed to start digging for the addition today but I haven't seen anyone yet. Hopefully it will all go smoothly and be a nice Christmas present for years to come.
And thank you for all of your nice comments about me not looking like a Grandma yet!

That's rough you got sick on Thanksgiving, but score on not having to cook! Looks like a good game of Catan was going on in one of those pictures!

Boy, you're a LOT more fun and productive when you're not feeling well, than I am when I'm not feeling well.

Hope you're feeling better! The pictures were great--the stuffed Indian freaked me out a little bit, though! ;)

Sound like a packed weekend even though you were down in bed. Thanks for the update. I just wish I could try some of those cookies you made.
