Our week was pretty good. We didn't have much going on during the week. My sisters came over for 'Working Wednesday' and we finished our Christmas cards and had lunch. Friday afternoon got a little hairy when my van wouldn't start at the school when I was picking up the boys. I couldn't find my cell phone to see if John was home yet so we walked home, me carrying big ole Katie Anne cause I couldn't get the stroller out. He was home, so we all piled into the truck to go charge the van, only to find out that the truck batteries were dead! UGH! We got those charged with a portable charger then went and got the van, and everything worked fine after that. That night my folks came over for dinner then we piled in the now working van to go see Willard Bay Lights. It's a really fun drive through light show, complete with Cinderella, Reindeer flying school, some crazy mice running their snowmobile into a tree, and a nativity, all made out of lights, most of them moving in some way. After we did the drive through part twice we got out and saw real live reindeer, stood around a huge fire pit, and ate kettle corn. A very nice evening!
Saturday was busy carting kids around in the middle of a big snowfall. Jane went to the church where the young women were babysitting as a service project. Jeffrey and Jack both had basketball practice so I made 3 round trips to the middleschool a block away on foot to take everyone back and forth. John helped the bishop move into his house 2 doors down, then later played dodgeball with some elders and young men before setting up for the Christmas party. Most people hadn't played dodge ball in years, but everyone had a great time and John's officially a part of the ward now! :) Maybe I should get the gals together for a game...
Our ward party was very interesting! Lots of yummy soups and desserts, followed by quite a program filled with all kinds of songs, some reverant, some not, with Santa Clause coming in at the end and giving treats to all the kids. They had just sung Away in a Manger with a little Mary and Joseph, then broke into Rudolph with all the echoes. It somehow mangaged to mesh together into a really fun night. One funny thing was a nice and naughty list. Most of the ward members were listed on the nice list, with about 30 people on the naughty list. John's name was crossed off the nice and added to the naughty, with a star by it. Do you think dodgeball had anything to do with it???

I loved the poem! Especially the part where father is enjoying Christmas because he hasn't contributed a thing. It's so wrong! I need to make Mike work harder.
Maybe after we visit you well go see the Willard Bay lights. I've always wanted to do that.
I've been to Willard Bay, but during the summer. Fortunately, the poem is funny and not too true.
Sounds like a fun week, except for the car part! We're waiting to see if we get snow here!
I miss the Snow...thanks for sharing.
enjoy it for me.
