That's Life Update

That's right folks! It's time to peek in the window of our life and see what's been going on! First of all, our addition is moving along, slow but sure. This week we had to have dirt brought in that wasn't frozen, and put it in the basement. Then, when the walls are up on the basement we can try to heat that dirt up enough to pour the cement floor. They did get it framed and the floor for the second level put on, mostly. It's fun to have it taking shape. The noise wasn't too bad this week, although we left once when they were drilling into the cement. It's so bad! I actually thought, this must be what hell is like! Unbearable noise!

Last week: My SIL (I hope that means Sister in Law) came up to spend the afternoon while her husband worked late. We had a great time just hanging out. She and most of John's side came up again Sunday for the superbowl, which only a couple people watched, although I heard later is was the best game in years. We had our own games going on in the kitchen, where all the good food was. That morning my sister called needing help getting to the hospital. She had all the sypmtoms of a detached retina, but had a lesser problem where the gel behind the eye becomes detached. It's very annoying because you see spiderwebs but it will eventually go mostly away, and she'll get used to the rest. Glad she was o.k.

Also last week, on the Saturday, John took the boys down to have dinner with his brother and his two boys before attending a Weber State Basketball game. John's grandma goes to all the games so they stopped to see her at her seat. After the game they were allowed to go down on the court and shoot around for a while, so that was fun.

Tuesday Jane had an eye appointment. We have an option of trying glasses before the surgery but there's little chance that will straighten her eye out. We haven't decided yet what to do. My boys were at my sister's and it was dinner time so she invited us to stay for dinner. Of course! We had to eat and run to make it to a little puppet show at the boys school. It was cute enough.

Friday we had dinner at my mom's then left the kids there to go to our ward temple night in Logan. We didn't make it into the session with our ward but were able to meet up with them after and have some dessert. It was fun to talk and hang out and try to make a spot for ourselves. It's coming, slowly but surely.

We slept over then went to Hardware Ranch with my folks, my sister's family, and my cousin and his family. They have about 400 elk they feed and take care of to keep them out of the valley. They drive you around on a horse drawn sleigh, then we went up to the lodge to eat our picnic. Last night I asked the kids what their favorite part was. JACK: Learning about the elk. JEFFREY: Watching the gumball machine. (ever seen an elk go poop?) JANE: Riding in Grandma and Grandpa's car. KATIE ANNE: Hi. (She says this A LOT!!!!)

So, that's life around here. I could dedicate a whole post to that hat my dad's wearing. It's been around for years! I love it! Thanks for all your nice comments on my last post...

Hardware Ranch looks like it was so much fun. I would love to ride in a horse drawn slay, but it is too cold.

The pictures are great!! Dad & thought it was very fun to see the elk and then, of course, the lunch. We want to see your addition - guess we'll have to come over.

I always love to read your blog. I worry about your sister with eyeball problems. I'm the queen of eyeball problems. Let me know which sister.

Well this whole post made me want to leave this place with a vengeance. It seems like your living life and not just watching it pass you by. I am glad you can see so much of your family and have a lot of activities to choose from. I'm glad your starting to make some friends.
