One friend...

I have never written a post about an individual friend. I don't want my other friends to feel bad because the post isn't about them, and I am a very loyal friend, really I think so, and would not ever want to do anything to hurt their feelings. But today I'm going to write about a friend. She will be famous soon, and I want people to know that "I knew her when...".

I wish I could get some of our old pictures to scan in so I could post them, but I don't have a lot of time and I don't feel like screaming and throwing a fit when I can't get this modern technology to work with my old brain. So, I stole this picture from her blog...ANYWAY...way back when I took a History class the first quarter of my college career. I saw a friend from high school and she was sitting with a girl she knew. Her name was Jill, and I wanted to be her friend. Luckily, she lived not too far from me with her Grandparents, who are also a delightful part of this friendship.

Jill was fun. We would hang out in her grandparents basement and I can't remember what we did, but I know we ate a lot of Turkey Steaks. Jill made me feel like I could do anything. She made me think I was good at stuff. She credits me for getting her through math. I credit her for getting me through life! She introduced me to "Wait Until Dark" and a bunch of other good movies. She taught me to laugh at lots of stuff, and she made life exciting. She always had a great story about cars suddenly starting on fire in the parking lot or funny things she did as a kid. I remember we went to see Lion King once at some old theater in Salt Lake and it was just a blast. Then we went back to her family's house and watched the screen saver on their computer look really cool to "Can you feel the love tonight".

We had the same major and took a lot of classes together. I'm sure she remembers more details about them all, but we had one music class with two cute boys sitting behind us and one VERY ANNOYED TEACHER. He hated us, he really did. But who cares! We had a lot of fun!

So, Jill started dating this boy who I had gone to high school with. I liked him for her and when she went to Minnesota for a summer we would get together and read her letters and I think we even made a tape for her? Anyway, I went on a mission and she married Mike and then I came home and met John and life kept on going. I still count her as one of my greatest friends, even though we hardly ever see each other.
Anyway, she's about to get super famous. She and her family are the stars of the first episode of a new series on the BYU channel called THE FOOD NANNY. It airs February 4 at 6:00 and 8:00. If you have dish network the channel is 9403. She's the one with red hair, a nice and relaxed husband, a beautiful daughter, and two very active twin boys. I hope you enjoy her show, and just remember, I knew her when!

I remember you talking about Jill when we served together! I'm so glad that you know her, and I'm so glad that I know you! I think I know how to be a better friend and better person because I know you!
I really want to do a get together, too. It's just a matter of figuring out when. Would a weekend in May work?

Oh Chicken! This post totally made my day! I love thinking of all those good memories and I LOVE you! We sure had good times didn't we? I could go on and on. You know you have a really good friend in someone when you are still friends 17-18 years later. Yes, it has really been THAT long.

Thanks for the super nice and flattering post. Thanks for being such a good friend to me over the years. And thanks for spreading the word about our show. Although, after you see how crazy we are and what an idoit I made of myself, you might decide not to be my friend anymore!

Love you.

I watched the show and enjoyed it since I have met Jill - although now that she's famous, she probably won't remember me, sigh. It was cute and you have a cute family Jill... how are the manners going now how many months later?
