Well....when you grow a garden for the first time, you can expect a few surprises. You already know about our 150+ zuchinni, our corn that blew over, and our beans that looked so beautiful then turned all brown and died. The carrots, on the other hand, did quite well. Some of them even provided us with a fair amount of humor. I never knew carrots could be so entertaining! In fact, the last time I was so entertained by a carrot, I was engaged to John and he was carving me flowers and race cars out of them!
Well, here are some samples. These here are the lovies. They just couldn't stay apart! Although I considered calling that one in the bottom right 'woman jumping on a trampoline who no longer has control of her bladder'.
The next batch to show you are our 'got to close to the x-ray machine' carrots. They are stunted or deformed or confused. Make no mistake, they taste just as good as others. Don't judge.
These pictures are of the same carrots. From one angle it's quite sweet...like they are meeting up at the airport after a long separation. From the other angle, however, it looks as if the little one is trying to carry the other one over it's shoulder, making you wonder why he's passed out, and how she is strong enough to carry him, and where is she taking him...to the ***GASP*** composter?
And lest you get the wrong idea about us...check out this little juxtaposition:
Yes, those are fudge covered mint oreos.
There are still carrots in the garden, just waiting for me to need a smile of my face and pick them!

Don't get me wrong, I like a carrot (even a deformed one), but those Oreos look good!
So funny! I'll look at carrots a little differently now! :)
It makes me want to grow carrots. I did not know it could be so funny!
You always make me laugh or cry, Kathryn! I love you! Great idea for a post! Home grown carrots always taste better than store bought.
I'm not so sure I could eat these crazy carrots :) So judgmental, I must be! But hooray for you to find soo much humor! I was laughing so hard there were tears!
Your carrots are as wacky as mine! I did not thin my carrots this year, now I know why! LOL
