Is it sad...

that I was completely jealous when I saw this on NieNie's blog?

I just love all that color.

I love reading her blog because I am inspired by her.  I'm sure you know her story...she and her husband were in a terrible plane crash and she was burned all over but managed to not only to survive, but to live.  She is featured in a Mormon Messages video called, My New Life

But, and I am a tiny bit reluctant to share this, one of the reasons I read her blog is because I am jealous of all of her color.  Her living room and basement and her children's clothing and even the coloring book is all so appealing to the eye that I can't stop looking at it.  When I showed John this picture he just laughed at me and said, "I'm pretty boring in the color department huh?"  Um, yeah.  I am too, but I am determined to try and get this right somehow in the way I dress or in the way I decorate or something.  MUST HAVE COLOR!!!

I also am a fan of Sarah's House on HGTV.  I'm like a strange alcoholic who only looks at beer. I am addicted, but have none of the product. I watch the shows and get all excited about it, but have nothing like that in my house.  I'm certain there's got to be something I can do, but what?  Anyone have any tips for a non-designer in love with color?

P.S.  I was also very jealous of this on NieNie's blog...if you had served in Michigan, you would TOTALLY understand.  I might have to get one.

You need a goose. I wrote Stephanie once and told her how I really only read her blog because I love her style. Burn victim? who cares?! I adore her wardrobe and furniture. She (and Rachel Kimbler) inpired we to wallpaper my laundry room in shabby chic scrapbook paper.

Your house is a delightful, colorful home. I love how it's full of fall colors (my fav time of year) NieNie just a little more funky and eclectic in style. keep watching and you'll find pieces you love to add or replace things you already have.

I love Sarah's House! Your home here in Ridgecrest was inspiring to me. I hope to someday see and be inspired by your home in Utah :)!

That is so funny - I saw that post on Nie nies blog and all I thought was WOW - a whole top rack of glasses. I wonder how many dishes she washes by hand. I am so boring my only thoughts were about cleaning and how my dishwasher is always chuck full of everything I can shove in!! The top rack has never looked so lovely and colorful and neat - nope. She is inspiring - and so are you. Truly. Loved the posts about your reunions - what a special time. Love you and your amazing family!
