Form Follows Function

I have been wanting a coffee table for a long time. You know, for all that coffee I don't drink. We didn't have one in CA thanks to space limitations, and we haven't had one here due to...well, I don't know why.  But we finally sat down and figured something out that we could live with.  See, we really like putting our feet up, and we wanted to use it Friday nights when we usually have pizza for dinner and eat it in front of the t.v.  We do this and call it a family togetherness night, but really by then I'm too tired to do anything else! (except maybe go on a real date once in a while...).
Because we know we're kind of slovenly once in a while we didn't want to have to clean off the top every time we wanted to put up our feet, or let down our hair for pizza night.  So my dear little hub came up with this (and then he whipped it out in his shop):

Doesn't that basket just look so slovenly?  HA!  It's already had plenty of sloven heaped upon it, don't worry...
Nifty, huh!
Even little feet enjoy it!  The little foot rests/plate holders slide in so that you don't even notice them, they are matched up that perfectly with the grain!  So great.  Thanks John!
