Weekly Review

Did I tell you I published my blog as a book?  I really like it, and now I have two more years to do to catch up.  That's the story of my life...catching up!  One thing I really liked when reading through my book were the weekly reviews I used to do.  Somehow I got out of that habit so naturally I'd like to get back in that habit.  Saturday (the 21st...you know, the end of the world, as advertised but no truth in that advertising!) held enough in one day to provide enough information for a weekly review but I'll start with Friday...

Jeffrey's class performed the Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein.  They had that cute tree and at the different phases the apples came off, the limbs came out, and the tree was cut down.  It's really quite a sad story to me, but whatever...they did a good job.  The performance was part of the year end reading assembly.  They had tons of prizes to give away.  Jack won a king size candy bar which he rudely would not hand over to me.  Don't you think I should at least get part of it?  He didn't think so either.  Jeffrey won a football and a $50 college savings bond which I'm going to try and cash out to put in his other savings account.  I don't think he'll share with me either!

(For some reason I got a kick out of watching all the kids carry their chairs in...organized chaos at it's best!  Plus, look at that cute little girl in the red shirt!

Saturday morning John and Jack headed to Webelo's Woods.  They had gone Friday night and were to supposed to have slept over at the park but the weather was not cooperative.  Jack was able to get a bunch of stuff done towards his Webelo badge.  I'm still not too up on how this scout thing works, so I am SOOOO glad for good leaders.  And John.

Jeffrey was at his last swim lessons then as soon as he and the other boys got home I ran to Ogden for a baby shower for Jen, my SIL.  She has three other kids, the youngest being 10 so she deserved another shower!  She got lots of cute blankets made by my MIL and other cute gifts.  She brought a candy bar game, not the kind where you have to sniff gross looking diapers, but one where you had to match clues to the candy bars.  Like...Milky Way was the answer to what she'll be known as when the baby gets here!  Cute.  And I scored 4 candy bars!  Even better!
I missed Jane's last soccer game but was home in time to deliver her to a birthday party.  She stayed just long enough to find out she was a princess (she could feel the pea under the pillow) before I had to take her away to get ready for her dance recital.  She did tumbling this year, but I think I'll have her do dance next year, it's just way cuter and funner!  She was so tired by then that this was her face, then a forced smile, then some attitude, then a real smile.
Despite how tired she was she did a great job.  She's gotten a lot better since the last recital so maybe there's some hope for her to have more coordination than me yet!  It's not hard.

We scarfed down some Burger King then headed to a dessert party at a friend's house.  It was so fun to sit and chat.  We finally had some good weather so the kids (and the dad's) hung out outside while I held my friend's baby forever.  So fun.
As for the rest of the week we...
Got along limpingly while I didn't feel so hot.  Monday we dropped all the kids off at my sisters and went on a hot date to refinance our house.  It was our best date ever.  Ha.  Hopefully we can save some money now and go on a REAL date!
Tuesday Jane had singing practice and tumbling.  I had a meeting and visiting teaching somewhere in there.
Wednesday was early out so no rest for the weary.  Jane played with a friend then when the boys got home they played with friends too.  John's mom and dad stopped in at the end of all the playdates and the beginning of the dinner time show down.  It's always crazy but we're glad they stop by!  And we're glad Maddox is here so they come this way once in a while! Smile smile.  John went to scouts and we wrote letters for Wacky Wednesday.
Thursday I went visiting teaching since another rainy day made park day out of the question. That afternoon Jeffrey went bowling for scouts and that night we folded clothes as a family.  Don't tell me I'm not fun!  That was our week...what did you do?
