My sister-in-law Dawn kindly pointed out that it's been a while since I updated my blog. So sorry.
I could make a list of all the things I've been doing, but that might bore you, so I will just say,
It's Summer!
We went to Yellowstone for a week (post to come...too overwhelming!).
When we came home the weeds were growing out of control. My life would be much simpler without a nearby elm tree and cottonwood tree dropping their seeds like it's nobody's business. The garden is almost weeded (only now I have to start over...). I took care of my flower garden first and was rewarded most beautifully:

I also LOVE the fourth of July...with all of it's patriotic celebrations.
I started this banner a month ago but was determined to get it finished for the big day.
I like how it turned out...
On our first whole day home we went to Park Day, which resulted in my kids inviting friends over for a water party in the afternoon. Oh sure, I had a bunch of laundry and things to do, but that was more fun.
We had California friends, The Peters, come and visit and I took 100 pictures...in my mind. I just soaked up some good old fashioned visiting, reminiscing, laughing, and maybe a tear or two, but completely forgot to take any pictures! They had like a 12 hour drive ahead of them the next day, but we talked them in to seeing Cars 2 with us, courtesy of the dentist we patronize. It was fun to hang out!
{When I told Jeffrey they were coming he jumped up and down, screaming. It just warms my heart that they still remember their friends from our past life!}
After the movie we did some Saturday stuff, then had Mark's kids (my brother's fam), Stacy (my sister) and her daughter Alyson over to play. All of the kids had a blast together and it was only my knowledge of the effects of a late night that finally sent the girls to bed. The whole family (minus Bets and girls) came over Sunday evening for dessert [my mom made an orange glazed angel food cake with a scrumptious strawberry sauce. I wanted to lick the plate but someone beat me to it so I settled for the serrated knife it was cut with instead.].
Most of the adults went to a fireside where we learned the process for creating the Moroni statues atop the smaller temples. I found it pretty fascinating. They also announced the date the Moroni would be put on the Brigham City Temple...July 12! Jeffrey's birthday. Pretty cool since the land for the temple was dedicated the day he was baptized.
Yesterday was Monday, and the boys played in the creek forever. It's moving just enough to be fun, it's hot enough outside to really enjoy the cold water, and the girls are completely happy in the kiddy pool. I sat outside forever getting Jeffrey's scout book in order and making lists, a favorite past time of mine.
Today I have my friend's kids so once again it's outside for the boys in the creek and the kiddy pool for the girls. They are crying out for otter pops as if it's their summer right to have them every day. I think it is.

I love the banner!! I was super jealous when I saw that the Peters stopped by. Maybe you can be a potty break on our way up to Idaho :)!
