Wordful Wednesday asks:
A Day in my Life
I decided to just have my ipod with me all day today...
starting at the very beginning.
After I get up I like to shower and get as ready as I can before I leave my room, though I have started {trying} to use the treadmill a bit and don't always follow my get ready first thing plan.
I head downstairs to the living room and pull out my scripture study basket.
After that it's a get the kids up and out the door effort. Wednesday's are special because Jack goes to school later than normal so all 4 kids are home. Then, I volunteer in Jane's class so it's good if I can get myself and Katie Anne all the way ready to go. Today I knew I had extra errands so I had to pack snacks for Katie Anne.
Today is Oatmeal day and everyone eats it better now that we use sprinkles instead of sugar:
My week to drive car pool so after I dropped the kids off Katie Anne and I headed to drop off the recycling. Luckily the bins had all been emptied so no hoping the bins don't explode from being over stuffed!
I still had a few minutes and had hoped to run into Shop-Ko to replace Jeffrey's newly blown out tennis shoes. Closed until 9:00 am so we went home and started on this:
I do sheets and towels on Monday, and the clothes on Wednesdays, though the folding doesn't happen until Thursday in general.
Back to the school!
Katie Anne loves coming with me! She gets all kinds of special attention but entertains herself while I am working with the kids. I always peek in on Jeffrey, though I rarely get to make eye contact with him. Here he raises his hand to answer a question. In Jane's class I get to do reading testing with the kids.
After that it's off to the church...I played for a group of women to sing at New Beginnings tonight and that was our practice.
Most of my typical days include something to do with the church...visiting teaching, meetings, carrying out my calling, etc.
We finally make it to the store. Katie Anne was bummed to leave her friends at the church so I let her get in the cart and play with my ipod. I find some shoes, then notice lots of little yellow clearance stickers all over the store. I must investigate! My best deal? That flower hooded towel for $2.50.
Home for lunch. Katie Anne heads downstairs to the playroom until it's ready. After lunch we each do our thing for a few minutes...
I cut some vinyl for my bathroom, but I've mis-measured and will probably re-do:
I adjusted a saying a little from one I found on my page-a-day calendar. I think it's very appropriate for today's post!
Katie Anne and I snuggle and read books before naptime.
It's early out so Jeffrey and Jane are home an hour early.
Jeffrey calls a friend and Jane wants to paint.
I made dinner early because of our crazy night ahead, then stored it in our huge refrigerator (haha):
Natural Wednesday panic to get Jack to scouts.
After dinner (three out of six liking it is not so bad!) I head to the church. John manages to get the dinner cleaned up, the dishes done, and had Jack vacuum the kitchen. Nice.
I walk in the door and he heads out to go Home Teaching.
Jeffrey had to watch the state of the state tonight for school, Jane and Katie Anne chat on the phone, just two feet away from each other. Later we play hide and seek (there's Jack finding me!), read Ada Elaine, and finished up our bedtime routine.
John makes it just in time for hugs and kisses then, because it's Wednesday heads to basketball. Now it's just me and her...

You are the BEST!
And THEN you blog about it.
You are amazing!
Thanks for sharing such great ideas; I particularly love the scripture study basket. I'm going to have to get one of those! And the sprinkles for oatmeal was genius. My son learned to finally eat oatmeal on his mission when he could douse it with dulce de leche. Maybe if we had used sprinkles he would have eaten more at home!
I'm tired reading that post, yet inspired by your diligence!
Can I just say I love the sweatband your husband is wearing. He must REALLY get into basketball!
you are amazing! i hope i can be as put together as you are when I'm a mama. Or just be that organized right now! i want to do one of these, but it might bore everyone to death... work, gym, school, sleep...
