I think one of the most interesting things about being a mom is witnessing the development of little personalities. Yesterday Jeffrey asked for a detailed report of the next days weather forecast (everything about him is detailed). He then went on to explain his parameters for when he will and will not wear shorts. It was more complex than you might think.
Jack was so timid as a baby and toddler. He always struggled leaving me and wasn't very adventurous. Now he's climbing mountains, riding ALL the rides at Lagoon, got right back on the four wheeler after he tore his arm up wrecking one into a barbed wire fence, and continually surprises me with what he takes in stride.
I wish I had pictures of those things. I do have pictures of the girls which spawned this little thought process. I guess a picture is worth a thousand words, or at least a thought or two.
On Saturday I took Katie Anne to her dance studio for picture day. She and the other little girls ended up clumped together. The mom I was chatting with pointed out that Katie Anne had taken charge...she was leading the girls in dance moves and commanding their attention...I finally remembered I had my own camera with me and got a couple of shots, though not the one where all the girls were looking at her for the next move...
And finally my Jane. She is game for life! A Saturday or two ago we spent the whole day (after swim lessons, of course) in Providence, my beloved home town. We attended a heritage festival on the grounds of The Old Rock Church where entertainment included a variety of musicians and story tellers. One guy wanted members of the audience to come and participate (there weren't many of us). Jane jumped right up and couldn't wait to be a part of it. She ended up being a chicken and played it well! (She's part Hicken Chicken you know).
Anyway...just look at her! She has a lot of passion in her little body and does everything with flair.
