Big Rock Candy Mountain

On June 4th we took off for our "YEAH IT'S SUMMER!" trip.
We took the scenic route through little towns such as Salina...Levan...Richfield...Gunnison...
Our first stop landed us right by the Big Rock Candy Mountain which just happens to be one of our favorite family songs.  This is the best picture I could get out of the window of the truck.

We had made reservations just down the street at Hoovers.
We borrowed my mom and dad's trailer to see how we liked it.
We liked it.
See us there in spot 1?

Our main reason for going there included the restaurant we wanted to eat at. The tagline for the restaurant, and this was NOT on the website, is "It's HOOVERS, not HOOTERS."  It wasn't very busy.  I wonder if they should get a new tagline.
Anywhoo...they had all kinds of crap cool antiques all over the place.  I really loved that little Sprite tin in the bottom left there.

Their operation might not have been very big but their burgers were!  This, people, is why we were there.  So fun and so good!  We added on cheese and bacon because it's the law.  John and I had swiss on our parts, Jane had american, and Jeffrey had pepperjack.  That's right, we shared it.  Four ways.  Add in a few yummy waffle fries and it was just right!  Jack and Katie Anne opted for a platter of chicken strips instead.  Party poopers!

After dinner we walked to the river.  The boys went looking, unsuccessfully, for an access.  I stayed with the girls and the camera.  As you can see, we had quite a bit of wind.  I might have been a whole lot happier had there been railings on the bridge.

All in all a good day one.

Kat, I love reading your blog, but lately I can only get the pictures to load and the background is black. I can't read the words either. I think it's the wall paper you're using...anyway, the pictures are nice. You look beautiful in that picture with your boys!
