And we have been plenty busy! All fun stuff of course...no house cleaning, no dishes, no fighting...
Well, we might have done all of those things but who wants to read about THAT!
So, I'll highlight the fun and good things...
We have had visitors!
The Turners of Ridgecrest days of yore...
Katie Anne did Shar's hair and Jane did mine. I think we all look just adorable.
The Peters, also of Ridgecrest days of yore (does that even mean anything?)
They were here over night so we had time to watch some of the Olympics opening ceremony (weird) and walk around the temple.

The Robers, from our newly wed days of yore. Jessie, that cute girl there, seemed very surprised to hear that I saw her on the very day she came into the world.
Next time they come, we'll play Uno with a Vengeance, and really re-live the past!
John's grandpa passed away (he lived for 97 years!) which gave a good reason to get together. Here are some of John's family that he hadn't seen in a very, very long time. We enjoyed a picnic the night before the funeral, dinner at Golden Corral after the funeral, and then, because they hadn't got enough of each other, they all came to our house after. Very fun, if that's o.k. to say about a funeral.
We celebrated the 24th of July, aka Pioneer day. I'm sure those sweet hard working pioneers would never have dreamed they'd be celebrated with pyro-technics! Whatever the reason, it's always fun to blow stuff up. I finally mastered a good heart with my sparklers :).

Before that we went to Willow Park to eat KFC with G&G Hicken. We also had to get cotton candy...
Jeffrey earned his Bear. That's a pretty good accomplishment and I take no credit for it, but tradition deems that I get a pin in my shirt. It's worth it, though, to get a REAL hug! The credit actually goes to his amazing scout leader, there in the bottom right giving Jeffrey a stuffed eagle to remind him to go for the gold, as far as scouting is concerned.

But wait...there's more! With a $15 dollar discount, we had to head to Lagoon for Stake Lagoon Day. You can see the kids first ride there third one down on the right. They were right upside down! Not my thing. I rode enough rides to pay for my ticket but that's about it. I spent most of my time in Kiddie Land with Katie Anne.
We were happy to have Alyson with us, then my parents came for a while, then Jen, Austin, and Ashley showed up.

Our garden continues to grow. The corn grew very tall and we have just started eating it this week. When the fresh sweet kernels pop in my mouth I instantly know that all the hard work of getting stuff to grow is worth it! The flowers are growing without any attention from me, thank heavens they know what to do!

That's really tall corn, although Nate tells me it's normal. I guess I'm not accustomed to normal corn!! Someday we need to be the visitors of yore :)!
what a fun summer! Jeffrey's almost as big as his scout leader, WHAT?
What a great summer! And that Brigham City temple is BEAUTIFUL!
