Love Week

This week was all about the love...
Grandma came and brought treasures for the girls.  A new pillowcase for Katie Anne (Jane already has a V-Day case) and cute heart pillows.  The boys were given their own box of rice crispy treats and were in heaven.
We knew that RuthAnn and Harold were going to be stopping by and that they would be with friends.  I wasn't sure if the friends would be coming in but I wanted the house to look nice so I gathered as much as I could and tossed it into the pantry, where I hoped they wouldn't look.
They didn't come in so my incredible effort was wasted.

For Love day we have heart waffles and heart clogging bacon.  So good.  This year I stacked the bananas in cute little glasses with a red toothpick to get them out.  Sadly, it's not as easy as it sounds to get stuck together bananas out of cute little cups.  Still, effort, right?  That gets me some points somewhere, I think.
The pizza was adorable, I thought, until no one could SEE the heart.  Plain as day, people.

All week long the kids checked the mailbox for treats and surprises.  I really don't go all out here, folks.  Just a little something something for my sweeties to fight over.  One day I filled a little cup with m&m's and said I was glad to have such magnificent and marvelous children.  They began dividing up the candies and it didn't come out even.  I'm sure you can guess what happened next.

John and I attended the temple on Tuesday night with our ward.  We left this little treat for them to open after we left.  I don't know how they divided it up but everyone was alive when we got home so I guess it went o.k.

On Valentine's Day they got a love note from yours truly (and John, too, technically, since I signed his name with mine).  This came with it and they were super impressed and immediately tore them open to see how I did it.
I enter the contests at our local grocery store and have won a dozen donuts and this balloon boquet.  So cute, I thought.

For dinner we had that homemade pizza and vegies.  The breadsticks came from a local pizza place that served up one of the worst salad bars ever complete with frozen lettuce and rotten peas.  Instead of a refund I got a free order of breadsticks, which are fabulous!

John and Jane went to Logan Wednesday night to get snowboard was and apparently my Valentine present...a whipped cream maker!  (Mine looks very similar to this pic that I got online).
You just pour in whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla.  Add a nitrous oxide charger, shake and dispense.  Delish!
John got a screaming good deal on ski passes (it cost $12 for ALL 3 of my boys to go).  John has his own board and the boys rented theirs.  John gave them some lessons but, as happens when learning something new, Jack fell and hurt his wrist.  They decided to head back to the van for lunch when they noticed a bunch of people sitting on an unmoving lift.  The power was out.  They waited a while but had to get home early so they were given lift passes for another day, as well as rental vouchers.  They get to try again when Jack's wrist doesn't hurt.  All's well when the power goes out.

My heavens everything looked just fabulous to me. You do some creative things - don't think you got that from me!
