Finding Joy

Wordful Wednesday
(Again I will apologize for not having my picture! I am not using my own computer and can't download it to the one I'm on.)

Anyway, my sister has a little plate on her entry table with lettering that says, "JOY...Help Yourself". I like the idea that we are in charge of our own attitudes, or own way of seeing things, our own idea of joy and how to have it. Joy is so much more than pleasure.

To find JOY I have to force myself to see things as they are. Sometimes it's taking a step back and observing, almost from an outsider's point of view. It's seeing the bigger picture, leaving out the unnecessary details.

Other times I have to take a step in. I am not fully partaking of time with my family. I'm doing the dishes when I could be playing a game or reading a story with my kids.

Sometimes I have to not look for JOY at all, because I am looking too hard. I think I'll find it some place or some where that is just out of reach. If I can just ________________ then I'll have JOY.

Just like Inner Beauty, JOY is a personal thing, and very much related, by the way.

You are so profound. Oh Boy I've Got Joy just because I know you.

The plate idea is sweet! You made some great points. We have to be active in finding JOY in our lives.

I love the thought on the plate. Can I have seconds?? Also, didn't you love reading S and S? I found myself thinking in old fashioned phrases for days afterwards!

I like your thoughts on Joy. Just remember to take time for Jesus, Others and Yourself and you will continue to have joy. I've learned this month that I have a hard time taking the joy. I'm much better at being worried and uptight.
