I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of fall, which for me means the colors of the leaves start to change. It has been quite warm here, still, which is fine, but I am looking forward to a change of season. I was never more homesick when I lived in California as I was in the fall.
I decided that even though the leaves weren't changing, that I could at least decorate for fall! Here are a few things. This is one of those fake pumpkins. My mother in law gave it to me one year and we stuck holes all over it, then put dum-dum suckers in it. It's a favorite at Halloween, but this year, I stripped a few bunches of fake mums and stuck those in the holes instead. I think it's awesome! (If I do say so myself...)
I also made some cute pumpkins out of toilet paper rolls, fabric, and paper lunch sacks. Now, if you want to get the real instructions go on over to this site...where she also has a ton of other great ideas for fall! And with Halloween coming up, I'm thinking a little about how to decorate for that. My friend made this book, so we're going to make them in Relief Society (bonus to being in charge of stuff...I get to do what I want to do!) You can probably see what she did...paint an old book black, (she burned the pages a little, which you can't see, but adds to the character of the book!), add some guaze (which she dipped in elmer's glue mixed with water) and then decorated with scrapbook paper and stickers! She got her cute stickers at Walmart, but I saw some cards at the dollar store that would be cute cut out and glued on. This book isn't quite finished, she has some vinyl lettering on order that will say things like Wanda's Brews, Vol.1. She did about 6 books in an afternoon. She wouldn't let me take the cutest one, but I think this one is pretty good!

Cute stuff, I think the mums are pretty awesome too.
I love the mum pumpkin!! On the book- is it just any old book that you don't want anymore?
Cute ideas, I am planning on decorating tomorrow, after I clean the house. I love fall decorations.
Rachel...yes...you just use an old book, or buy one at a second hand store.
