Well...they tried it again and this time it worked! I pulled the boys out of school so we could go out to ATK and see them test the Ares 1 motor. They said the flame out the back was literally the same brightness as the sun. It shot all kinds of dust into the air and made a loud boom! It really was exciting to see it. It burned for about 2 minutes. When we got back in the car we had to sit in line for a long time. Jack had just told me before we got back in the car that he wanted to go to some science experiment his class was doing, and I told him we probably wouldn't make it back. Well, he said a little prayer and you know what? We started moving. We were the last car to go through all the cut offs, the car behind us always got stopped. He was a little late, but made it for most of the experiment at school. Oh to have the faith of a child!
We had Peach Day's here in Brigham City. It's crazy around here! People were standing in line at 3:00 Thursday to have first dibs at the best parade watching sites. And the parade wasn't until Saturday! The boys marched in the children's parade on Friday night. Jack is there with the scouts and Jeffrey marched with his school (can you see the back of his head?). After the parade we were supposed to pick the boys up and, according to the address we were given, they should have been right by each other. BUT...the address for Jack's was wrong and it took us quite some time to find him. He was at the place ALL ALONE. Not one scout leader had stayed to make sure the boys were all picked up. We were all a little shook up, especially because both my phone and John's were dead. Mine from a malfunction, his from the battery. It was very frustrating, to say the least, but we were very happy that he was safe and sound. On Saturday the kids and I watched part of the parade (we were literally the last people watching on the parade route...because I didn't get there at 3:00 Thursday to set out a blanket. You can bet I'll be there next year!) Then we had a family dinner at Christine's, then we went back home for naps and that night we watched Jon Schmidt perform. It was very fun and I enjoyed every minute of it. Even the boys thought he was cool, so hopefully they will stick to the piano!
So, that's life here. What are you up to?

I'm glad Jack was okay--I would have been pretty steamed to have my child waiting there all alone, too. Great pictures! :)
So, SO jealous you got to see Jon Schmidt! LOVE him!! Sounds like you guys have been having fun!!
Peach Days was a blast! I am glad that I was able to spend so much time with your family Saturday. I am smitten with your children!!
I love the story about Jack's prayer. I remember so many of my little prayers being answered, and are still testimony builders for me today.
I hope you have talked to the scout leaders - they should know better than that. We did have a good time at the park with all the family and to celebrate Karl's 18th birthday. It was fun to talk about some fun moments we have had with him over the years.
