For many moons now John has been* talking *talking *talking about making me a taco mold. A what? Well, we like to indulge a little on taco night and fry our shells. I had a little system using my tongs to hold the taco open while it cooked so it would at least be pliable enough to fill it with all the goodies. I thought it worked just fine but he thought he could make a mold that would make it even better. I doubted. I should know better. Friday night the lightbulb went off and he skidaddled down to his shop and just a short while later (after I had cooked everyone else's shells) up he came with this:
And it made a perfect shell to do this:
Does that look good or what???
The first taco is shredded beef and the second holds left over o.j. chicken fajitas. That little yellow thing is a gag gift I gave him one Christmas. It's awesome! you can make all the little kids taco's easily and looks like it holds his just fine as well! Maybe we'll just start marketing these, make our millions, and travel around the world. Or, maybe we'll just use it on taco night...thanks Taco Man!

WOW! Everything about this post impresses me -- and makes me hungry!
1-homemade taco shells out of flour tortillas, is that what I see? That would be AWESOME since the Costco all naturals are SOOO yummy and healthy
2-WAY TO GO JOHN!!! So smart!
3-I can't even tell you how good that looks!
4-I LOVE the taco holder. Come on, tell me that I can buy one at Bed Bath and Beyond!
That is COOL!!!
You give me too much credit! The taco shells are just corn tortillas we fry up in a little oil. We love the uncooked flour tortillas you can get but we use those for quesadillas and fajitas.
um...yeah...I want one. We fry up our corn tortillas too and while the tongs system works, this looks AWESOME!! Where do we buy?? :)
You should totally patent that!
I need both of these. Throw in the handy man too! I make tacos all the time and my kids only like the fried ones (which I dutifully make even though I don't fry mine but want to). Great post!
You've probably already seen this, but if not check out http://www.ourbestbites.com/2011/04/tutorial-quick-and-easy-easter-wreath/
