That's a good idea!

This summer, as you might have heard, we tried to pack it all in.  John had 2 scout related backpack trips, and a family one as well.  Kraig, Kenny, and Nathan went with John, Jack and Jeffrey to the Windrivers.  A month or so prior to this, Stacy had a great idea...with all the boys gone, maybe we should do something fun as well.  She wanted to go to St. George and watch the Little Mermaid at Tuachan, and that sounded just fine to me.  My sister Chris got in on the action, so a day after our boys left, we were on our way.

I drove most of the way down and back.  Andrea and Chris took the middle of the van, where they could play games on the various electronics, chat with us up in the front, and take care of the girls in the back.  Alyson took the middle squished seat in the back between two adoring cousins, Jane and Katie Anne.  They had a LOT of fun playing with the camwow app on the ipod.  This is seriously a fraction of what they took!  Kept them happy though!

On Friday my sister Betsey had to work and all the cousins were in school so that group I described above all went shopping for good deals at Ross. The best idea here was...I didn't actually have to do the shopping!   I love going with people who will pick everything out for me!  And when they all clap when I come out in an outfit then I buy it!
After the shopping and eating at Five Guys (hello...great idea of a great place to eat!  So yummy and a massive amount of fries to boot!) we had a break then got all dolled up to go to dinner with Betsey, her two girls, and my brothers two girls.  Elaine, SIL, would have come on the girls weekend with us but she and Mark were off on their anniversary trip so we'll plan that better for next time!

After dinner we headed to Tuachan.  This is another amazing idea.  I mean, who looks at a big huge mountain in the middle of the dessert and says, I think we should have an amphitheater here!  You can read about the history on the website.  Anyway, as we were all gathering together, we were surprised to see John's brother and nephew there!  What a small world.

We were on the very back row, but there aren't really any bad seats there, and I didn't worry as much as my girsl wandered back and forth between aunts.  The production was amazing, though I would have liked to see more storyline in the second half as compared to the first.  I wondered how they could do Ursula to make her all mean and scary and big at the end but they figured out a way. I look forward to going there again.  Next year's plays are the Wizard of Oz, Hairspray, and Legally Blonde.  Girls Weekend Out might just be tradition now!

When we got home late Saturday, the boys were nice and showered, having arrived just enough before us to be all cleaned up.  They had a great time...

And you can watch this if you dare!  I can't get him to eat cheese or sourcream, but he'll eat this???
